Stitch the Koala Bear

Stitch the Koala Bear is one of the larger dolls, approximately 30 inches / 76 cm tall when he is standing. He has a front pocket, very useful to hide small treasures! Sewing Stitches the Koala Bear requires a good day's work, his cute muzzle being the part that requires most time.

Though Stitch the Koala is the perfect stuffed animal to sew from a mix of old jeans and linen scraps, I have provided the amount of linen fabric needed to sew the Koala Bear entirely from linen. However, the Koala Bear shown in the pictures is sewn mainly from an old pair of jeans, while his inner ears, palms, bottom and foot soles are sewn from linen of different colours. This makes Koala the Bear the perfect pattern from which to sew a memory bear!

Stitch the Koala Bear should be sewn by an intermediate sewist, mainly dute to the muzzle parts which are sewn by hand onto the face. Pictures are provided for every step, along with many tips to lead you through the entire sewing process.

Note that my patterns all require the use of fusible interfacing. Sewing dolls with interfaced fabric will significantly improve the structure and longevity of your dolls, making them easier to sew and more enjoyable to play with.
