Rosie is a big doll, approximately 23 inches / 58 cm tall when she is standing. Both adults and children adore her, so you will surely end up sewing many bunnies from this pattern! Sewing Rosie requires a good day's work, but the results are so satisfying, she will make anyone smile! Her limbs are sewn into the body, so she will require a bit of patience and attention when the body is sewn together. Rosie's pattern also comes with a very simple pattern to sew her a dress.
Rosie can be sewn by a confident beginner who's done some sewing with a sewing machine, but I would recommend starting off with Ollie the Elephant's pattern before trying Rosie's pattern. Pictures are provided for every step, along with many tips to lead you through the sewing process.
Rosie the Bunny should be made with medium weight fabric such as linen or jeans. Cotton scraps will work fine for the ears. For the dress, I recommend using a lightweight crushed velvet which does not require a seam. The crushed velvet will also make lovely ears!
Note that my patterns all require the use of interfacing. Sewing dolls with interfaced fabric will significantly improve the structure and longevity of your dolls, making them easier to sew and more enjoyable to play with.
